Pennsauken, NJ (April 3)- The Philadelphia Phantoms closed out the 2002 Winter league season with an impressive 7-2 win over the Wharton Wildmen. The Phantoms blew open a 4-2 game with a three goal third period to seal up the league title.
The Phantoms finish their first season in HNA at 8-2-0, with both losses coming by one goal each. The team netted 62 goals in the ten game season and allowed only 20 for a +42 differential.
The Phantoms resume play in June under a new name, the Philadelphia Firebirds (HNA). The team hopes to continue it's success into the summer and beyond.
